The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK this week for the first time since returning for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Harry and Meghan will appear at events in London and Manchester, as well as fly to Germany to celebrate the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games.

It is not known which day the couple will arrive on British soil, or if they will visit the Queen at Balmoral, but it is thought that they will hardly take their children Archie and Lili on a business trip.

On Monday they will head to Manchester for the One Young World Summit, an event that brings together young leaders from over 190 countries.

Meghan, the organization’s councilor, will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.

They will also meet with a group of top delegates doing “outstanding work on gender equality,” said One Young World.

The pair will then travel to Germany for Invictus Games Dusseldorf’s One Year to Go 2023 event on Tuesday, before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards in London, where Harry will give a speech on Thursday.

Their visit to the UK will be the first time they return to the country from the Jubilee celebrations in early June, when they attended the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral.

It comes a few days after Meghan’s wide-ranging interview with The Cut in which she said it takes “a lot of effort” to forgive and hinted that she can “say anything”.

In the interview, which lasts more than 6,000 words, Meghan said that “just by existing” she and Harry were “disrupting the hierarchy dynamic” before stepping down as working senior royals.

Harry and Meghan’s trip falls in the same week that the new prime minister is expected to be announced and the queen will ask to form a government.

The monarch will first appoint a new prime minister at Balmoral during her reign.

The 96-year-old, who has faced ongoing mobility issues, traditionally holds hearings with outgoing and incoming previews at Buckingham Palace.

But Boris Johnson, who will resign, and the new Conservative Party leader who will be asked to form a government – Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak – will head to Balmoral Castle for the main audience on Tuesday.

Safety will be at the center of Harry’s mind as he travels from his California home for high profile appearances.

The Duke, who stepped down as senior royal in 2020, is filing legal action over the decision not to allow him to pay police protection for himself and his family when in the UK.

This summer he won a bid to sue the High Court Interior Ministry.

His challenge relates to the February 2020 decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Personalities (Ravec) on his safety, after he was told he would no longer receive the “same degree” of personal protective safety during the visit.

The royal family is preparing for Harry’s upcoming revealing book, which he promised will be an “accurate and entirely true” account of his life.

The memoirs were supposed to be released in late 2022 by Penguin Random House, but a release date has yet to be confirmed.

There will be concern in the royal quarters that the Duke will deepen his rift with his brother, the Duke of Cambridge, his troubled relationship with his father, the Prince of Wales, his vision of his stepmother, the Duchess of Cornwall and the turbulent fallout of the Megxit.

Harry and Meghan accused the royal family of racism in their controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, saying that an unnamed royal made a racist remark about their son Archie before he was born and that the institution failed to helping a suicidal Meghan.

Although unconfirmed, it is considered unlikely that the couple will take Archie and Lili on a business trip.

The youngsters traveled with their parents to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee and Lili celebrated her first birthday at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, but Archie and her younger sister did not attend any public events.

Harry and Meghan stayed out of the spotlight for most of the weekend, with the Queen deciding that only working royals should grace Buckingham Palace’s balcony during the historic festivities.

The Sussexes renewed the lease on Frogmore Cottage earlier this year.

If Harry and Meghan remain at their UK base, they will be minutes from the Cambridge, who should have moved into their new home, Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate.

The location of the new Cambridge home increases the chances of a private meeting between Harry, Meghan, William and Kate, despite their troubled history.
