Antonio Conte asked Tottenham to be more clinical despite extending his unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Fulham.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane have scored all-time as Spurs have scored six unbeaten top-flight games this season.
Kane’s goal 15 minutes from time seemed to put the game in order, but Aleksandar Mitrovic narrowed the gap with seven minutes to go to create a nervous ending.
“For sure the performance, yes, I like the performance,” said Conte, the Spurs boss. “We also had a good performance against Southampton.
If I have to find a situation to improve it is to be more clinical because when you create a lot of chances you have to score but we scored two goals disallowed, then the crossbar.
“Yes, I had a lot of fun watching my players play the ball with quality and personality.”
Son Heung-min saw his lack of goals extend into the sixth game, but looked back on his usual best against Fulham with an effort against the crossbar and a crossed-out shot for offside.
Conte added: “This is not just about Sonny (in matches), but also about training. We have Fraser (Forster) who sometimes gave him a fantastic save in training and sometimes struggles to score but this is a period.
“I keep telling you I’m not worried because when I see this kind of performance from my players, including Sonny, I’m not worried. I know they will score a lot of goals. “
Kane reached another milestone with Ryan Sessegnon’s tap-in cross on his 188th Premier League goal, taking him past Andy Cole to third overall on the all-time list.
It was also his 43rd goal in the London derby in the Premier League, which puts him on par with previous record holder Thierry Henry.
Richarlison was supposed to celebrate his full debut with a goal, but hit the inside of the post with a shot in the second half and also saw an offside barred steal.
It was one of five changes made with Clement Lenglet even on his full debut and both have received praise from their manager.
“I think they have shown that they are really good players who can improve us a lot to become stronger and also to make the squad deeper and give me the chance to rotate without quality loss,” said Conte.
“Lenglet proved to be a really good player with personality, with quality. When you take a Barcelona player for sure he comes with a great background and it is easier for me to explain football to him.
Richy is another player, a strong player, you feel it when you are on the pitch and you feel his personality on the pitch. He is a warrior, a fighter and we need this type of player to improve this type of aspect. “
Fulham manager Marco Silva praised his team’s fight despite admitting they were far from their best.
He said: “It was nice to see that at least we fought to the end. We thought we could equalize by not playing even close to our best level, so it’s nice to come here, play a great team, even if we didn’t play at our best level we matched them until the last minute.
“I really believe that with different performances from us we can do a lot better and the game will be completely different.
“It’s a time for us to analyze and show the players why we didn’t behave as we should have.”
