On paper, Don’t worry honey it should have been a surefire victory.

The psychological thriller had, in Olivia Wilde, a lively up-and-coming director, fresh from teen comedy and enthusiastically received Smart book.

In Florence Pugh, there was a young actor hailed as one of the best of a generation, who had just been nominated for his first Oscar (for Little Women).

When it was announced that Pugh would be joined by Harry Styles, one of the greatest pop singers in the world, it seemed like the film was almost certainly a big box office draw. So what went wrong?

As the film’s release date approaches in September, controversy over the film has escalated.

August 24, 2022 – Wilde praises Pugh, denies salary disparity rumors

In an interview with VarietyWilde once again praised Pugh, describing her as “extraordinary” and “clearly the most exciting young actress working today”.

He also denied rumors that Styles had been paid three times Pugh’s salary for his work on the film.
