Between nighttime feedings, poor naps, school holidays, and just a general lack of personal time, if you have kids and still want to try your hand at makeup, it can be tricky.
With newborns, makeup can go all the way out the window, and even if your kids are in kindergarten or school, mornings aren’t exactly a relaxing time where you can style and highlight to your liking.
Complicated techniques and anything that requires a tool or tutorial on TikTok is generally forbidden, and I’ve personally found that anything that can be applied with your fingers while keeping an eye on even a child who may or may not try to rinse your lo toothbrush in the toilet is a must.
Likewise, I found products that can do two things at the same time really useful (e.g. foundation with SPF, a blush that can also be used as a lip dye).
Even if you don’t have kids and are just tired of AF and hate picky makeup routines, these products are for you.
I am obsessed with these. Good enough for Greta Gerwig and Beyoncé on the red carpet and easily blended with your fingers (even in low light), you can wear one color alone or blend two together to make it look like you took longer to put on your makeup than you actually have. .

Trinny London Sheer lip to cheek
A great example of a product that can do more than one thing. These colored vessels can go on eyes, cheeks and lips. They are moisturizing, blend well and can be easily applied quickly with your fingers.

If you prefer sticks rather than jars of color, this is excellent. Again, this product can be used on the cheeks or lips, and because it also has a bit of a shine, it can also do the double duty of highlighter.

Pixi DetoxifEYE degreasing eye patches
Even if you only have time to wear them for a few minutes before starting your makeup routine, I swear they still help make you look like you have at least three hours of sleep.

Shinier stretch concealer
I’ve tried many, many concealers that cost a lot of money, promise to give great coverage, won’t bend and permanently hide dark circles – and most just don’t. THIS concealer however, I am firmly obsessed with. It’s the only one I’ve recently found that doesn’t clump, is moisturizing, and really helps make you look I wake.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream
This CC cream is probably more like a foundation – it’s moisturizing, offers great coverage, and also has an SPF 50. A little goes a long way, so even if it’s expensive, it’s worth it. Plus, Boots also offers a great travel version if you want to try a smaller size before investing in the larger one!

Burt’s Bee Lipstick
While Burt’s Bees is usually paired with peppermint chapsticks and honey-scented lotions, their lipsticks are pretty awesome! The shades of these polishes are really lovely and are neutral enough to be useful every day, but still give some color to your face.

Brighter Future Dew Serum
While you may feel like you don’t have time for the serum, I highly recommend it! It’s super moisturizing and gives you an adorable shine, perfect for tired skin or when you feel like no product in the world can bring you back to life!

No7 Match Made Stay Perfect Lipstick
If you’re looking for a lipstick that you can wear once and don’t have to worry for hours on end, I swear by this range because I’ve been wearing it for over a decade. Non-drying and with real durability, these lipsticks are excellent for long days and will last from delivery to pickup.

I’ve been wearing this mascara since it launched in 2018 and have never looked back. No need for an eyelash curler or extensions, this mascara just works. It stretches and doesn’t smudge, plus you don’t need a bunch of coats to look good.

Laura Mercier’s secret camouflage concealer
One of the few concealers worth its price, the combination of a darker and lighter shade works wonders, especially for those hormone-induced mega-spots.

Revolution Haircare Revive Dry Shampoo
If you are used to Batiste, this is a great alternative. My head was 75% dry shampoo even before having a baby, and I’ve found this (and the Volume version) to be very helpful when I haven’t had time to wash my hair or need a boost.

More polished after Baume
I firmly believe that the key to looking awake is that your makeup looks its best is that your skin is properly moisturized. My skin was all over the place from the pregnancy and breastfeeding hormones, and that was the only thing that helped me. Plus, you can put it just about anywhere, so it’s great for cracked heels and stretch marks too.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream
I’m never sure eye creams actually work, but when I use them, I swear I look at least 10% less tired. Moisturizing and brightening too, it works really well under makeup!
